Mendip Ski Club: Adult Session

Mendip Ski Club is Mendip's weekly ski club taking place from November to April. The adult session takes place every Thursday evening 8pm to 9.30pm for recreational skiiers aged 14+.

Mendip Ski Club has limited spaces. It costs £20 when booked online or £25 when booked on arrival.

How does it work?
Our experienced, qualified instructors will meet you in our equipment room and get you kitted out with skis, boots and a helmet (just bring a pair of gloves and wear full length sleeves and trousers). The first half of the session involves our fully qualified coaches working with you to refine your skills and technique in a fun, social environment. For the second half of the session, you will have a go at putting these skills into practice by skiing down some a slalom course.

Do I need to attend every week?
There is no commitment to come weekly but many of our skiers are regular attendees!

Is it right for me?
Mendip Ski Club- Adult Session is for ages 14+. You'll find a youth club here. Everyone must be at a recreational standard so able to stop on demand, control speed, steer and avoid other objects and users and use the button drag lift. Whether you have just completed our Learn to Ski Course or you are an experienced skier, this is the ideal way to continue developing your skills!

Progression
Mendip Ski Club is a friendly environment so as long as you can already ski, please do come along! If you are looking for other opportunities to improve your skiing, you can drop into Ski With an Instructor, book a Private Lesson, or book a Slope Pass.
FAQ's

Mendip Ski Club - Youth Sessions are designed for ages 5 - 16 and Mendip Ski Club - Adult sessions for ages 14+. If you have not attended before, please book the session suitable for your age range.

Sometimes our instructors will suggest that teenagers would benefit more from the adult session than the youth but this will always be a discussion with you and the choice is ultimately up to you.

Mendip Ski Club is a fun, progressive ski club taking place between November and April.

We aim to use these sessions to improve your technique and continue developing your ski skills in a fun, informal club atmosphere. Many of our participants attend regularly but feel free to come along as suits you!

Not at all! Whether you have just learnt to ski or have been skiing for years, you are welcome to join Mendip Ski Club! The best advice we have if you're unsure is to come along for a session and see if it's for you! Our friendly instructor team will tailor their tuition to you and your ability.

Even if you have lots of previous ski experience, it'sis a great chance to continue challenging yourself and get regular ski practice whilst meeting new people.

Tobogganing

Tobogganing is a very popular activity and, especially during peak times, we have very little flexibility in being able to push your start time back. Where possible, we will get you onto the toboggan slope as soon as possible once you arrive. We will try to be as accommodating as possible and if there is availability later in the day, we will move your session to a later start time however please be aware that this is not always possible.

Frisbee golf or recreational snowsports

We are likely to be able to change your start time at arrival as long as it is within our opening hours and on the same day.

Private session
We will start whenever you arrive but we are unlikely to be able to overrun.

Individual spaces on a session

We will do our best to fit you into the session at a point that does not disrupt it too much for other participants. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we're sorry but it is very unlikely we will be able to fit you into the session due to missing the safety and equipment briefing and kit up.
