Try Archery

1.5 hour archery activity session.

How does it work?

This is a great introduction to archery and a fun way to try something new as a family or with friends. We will cover the basics of using a bow and arrow on our permanent outdoor range. Your fully qualified instructor will coach you and use fun games and challenges to get the most out of your 90 minutes on the range.

Who are these activities for?

These activities are suitable for anyone aged eight or over. You have the option to book individual spaces on this session or, if no spaces have sold, you can book the session exclusively for your group of up to 12 people by selecting the "Private group" option. If you book the session excluisvely we can relax the age restriction and you can bring children aged six or seven. If you have anyone under eight in your group at least one adult must take part.

What COVID measures are you taking?

We can allow groups larger than six because, as a COVID secure business, we ensure that social distancing is maintained throughout the session, keeping everyone safe and distanced at all times. All specialist equipment will be provided and appropriately sanitised before each session. Social distance is expected with members not in your household throughout the session.

As an outdoor activity centre, we go ahead whatever the weather! The only exception to this rule is lightning directly overhead, which we monitor very closely and rarely stops play for more than a few minutes. Make sure you bring a change of clothes if it's raining, wrap up warm if it's windy, and drink plenty of fluids if it's hot. Make an adventure of it!!!

Yes! We are now able to accept gift vouchers again. You may use your voucher on any instructor led activity that your voucher is valid for. If your voucher was due to expire after 22nd March 2020, we have automatically extended it by 18 months so your codes will still work for an online booking.

All vouchers can be used for the value paid for them against any of our activities.

We will need a completed copy of our medical declaration. Where possible please print it out and bring it with you. We will have copies available on site.

Well behaved dogs are welcome to join you onsite however unfortunately, they can't join you on any of our activity sessions other than frisbee golf.

If you are bringing a dog with you, one of your party will have to not take part in the activity session to stay with the dog or it will have to be left in a vehicle.

We go ahead with our activities whatever the weather so please wear light layers and bring a waterproof.

Please make sure you have a long sleeve top/jumper for archery.

Our activity centre is in the countryside and our target sport ranges can get muddy underfoot, especially if it has been wet. Please wear sturdy, closed toe shoes that you don't mind getting muddy (trainers, walking boots, wellies are all great).

Archery, Air Rifles and Axe throwing all take place at Mendip Activity Centre. You can find us in the heart of the Mendip Hills at BS25 5PQ.

As an outdoor activity centre we go ahead whatever the weather! The only exception to this rule is lightning directly over the centre, which we monitor very closely. All of our activity sites have plenty of parking onsite. Parking is free of charge.

We are very fortunate to be situated in such a stunning location set in the Mendip hills. Unfortunately, this does come with its limitations. We currently only have stair access to our slopes and cafe, and the paths leading to our onsite activities can be fairly muddy and uneven.

Pushchairs/wheelchairs/mobility scooters may struggle depending on what part of the centre they are trying to access. We are always happy to try and help where we can so please do give us a call to discuss your individual requirements.

You will receive a confirmation email from us once your booking has been made. Sometimes this email can end up in your junk folder, so please check there first if you can't find it.

If you can't find a confirmation email, your online booking may not have been fully completed - please check whether the session you were trying to book is still available online. If it is, please try to make the booking again. If it's not, please contact us so that we can check what's happened.
